What is a squadron?

In our case, squadrons are groups of civilians who have a common interest in flying, would like to learn more about it, and perhaps wish to fly different types of aircraft, and/or learn more about air-to-air and air-to-ground combat.

How do they operate?

Our squadrons are run by Squadron Executive Officers as well as our flight instructors here at Flightdeck ACC. Our squadrons typically come in on a monthly or bi-monthly basis for a two hour mission. They develop their own command structure as well as plan their own missions. Flightdeck staff are available to provide all necessary training and tactical help.

Can I start my own?

At this time we are looking for leaders to step up and take control of squadrons. If you would like to take the lead of an already processing squadron you can do so or you can start your own squadron composed of you and between 6 and 12 of your friends, family, or co-workers.

What if I want to fly more than the normal squadron nights?

Any squadron member is welcome to fly on any weekday during the month (based on availability) at a severely discounted rate (currently 50%)!

What are the costs associated with belonging to a squadron?

There is a one time registration fee of $49 which includes processing charges, a Flightdeck tee shirt, hat, and flight patch. The monthly fee per squadron member is $49. If the squadron flies bi-monthly, the fee is $89 per month. All monthly fees are due and payable on the first business day of each month.
